The Presence Score is bamboo's measure of how visible a care provider is to the families looking for care in its area, built only from information anyone could check. Today that is the CQC rating. Reviews, web presence, search visibility and social activity join it as each is measured. Every home you confirm as a competitor gets the same score on the same scale, customer or not.

It is not a quality rating and it is not a CQC rating. It measures presence: whether families can find you and what they see when they do. Your enquiries and your ad spend never feed it and never appear on it.

What it does

Presence Score, step by step.

  1. 01

    Built from five public signals

The score is out of 100: CQC rating 25, reviews 25, web presence 20, social activity 15 and links 15. Only the CQC rating is scored today. The other columns stay blank until bamboo measures them, so the number is never padded.

    • CQC rating from the public register
    • Each signal added when it is measured, not before
    • The same weights for every home in the table

Ranked against the homes you compete with

The table holds the CQC-registered homes near you that you confirmed as competitors, each scored on the same scale and re-ranked every week. Your row is marked, and so is how far you moved.

    • Weekly recompute, with the move since last week
    • Confirmed competitors only, so the comparison is fair
    • Customer or not, every home is scored the same way

With what would move you up

Under the table bamboo shows the gap to the home above you and the change that would close it, whether that is a review drive, photos on your Google profile or a page your website is missing.

    • The gap to the next place, as a number
    • One or two fixes, in order
    • Each fix leads to the tool that does it

Why it matters

What presence score changes.

Owner-managers know their rivals

You already know which home down the road you lose families to. Now there is a number for it, updated every week.

Fair and factual

Public signals only, the same weights for everyone, and a column left blank rather than guessed. If the score moves, something real moved.

A reason to look every Monday

The weekly recompute turns marketing from a thing you mean to do into a table you check.

Questions

The ones that get asked.

Why is only the CQC rating scored today?

Because it is the only signal bamboo measures for every home yet. Reviews, web presence, search visibility and social activity are added to the score as each one is measured, and the page says which are live. We would rather show a blank column than a made-up number.

Can other homes see my score?

The score is built from public information, so a rival on bamboo would see your home ranked the same way you see theirs. Your enquiries, your spend and your cost per enquiry are never shown to anyone but you.

How often does it change?

Once a week. Each home has a fixed day, and the table shows the move since the last run.
