Media database.
A shared list of care-sector journalists that bamboo maintains, plus the local reporters, editors and radio producers you add yourself. Releases go to a list you choose, and a contact who asks to stop hearing from you is honoured everywhere.

- Shared list maintained by bamboo
The media database is where your press releases get their recipients. Half of it is kept for you: the trade titles and the sector reporters, updated by the bamboo team. The other half is yours: the local paper, the community radio station, the parish magazine.
It is not a bought list of thousands of addresses. It is the few dozen people who might actually print your story, kept current.
What it does
Media database, step by step.

The care-sector list, maintained for you
Reporters and editors on the trade titles that cover care, kept current by the bamboo team. You cannot edit them, which is the point: when a journalist moves, the list moves with them.
- Trade press for care homes and home care
- Updated centrally, so your list is never stale
- Marked as shared, so you know which contacts are yours

Your own contacts
Add the local paper's news desk, the radio producer who covers community stories and anyone else who has run your news before. Tag them so a list is one filter away.

Lists for sending
A release goes to one list at a time, so the garden party goes to the local desks and the new dementia service goes to the trade titles. A contact flagged as stop emailing is excluded from every list.

Why it matters
What media database changes.
The right desk, not the biggest list
A story about one care home in Lancaster belongs with the three people who cover Lancaster, not with a national wire.
Journalists move
Trade press contacts change every few months. The shared list is maintained so yours does not rot.
Nobody is emailed twice who asked not to be
One flag, honoured on every list, every time.
Questions
The ones that get asked.
Where does the shared list come from?
The bamboo team maintains it from the care-sector trade press. It is the list Bridgehead has used for its own care clients.
Can I add my own contacts?
Yes, one at a time, with a note and tags. They are yours and stay separate from the shared list.
Can I see who opened a release?
Not yet. bamboo records that a release was sent and to whom. Open tracking is not built, so it is not claimed.
